Bill Clague

Bill Clague, who recently stepped down as Manatee County Attorney, has joined Grimes Galvano. At the firm, Clague will focus on transactional, land use, and administrative law.

Clague served Manatee County in various capacities for over twenty years, most recently as the Manatee County Attorney from January 2021 to February 2024. In this role, he acted as general counsel to the County Government, including the Board of County Commissioners, County Administrator, and County staff.

With nearly 30 years of legal experience, Clague brings extensive expertise in transactional law, land use, and administrative law to Grimes Galvano. He holds a law degree from the University of Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar. Clague is recognized for his dedication to public service and his contributions to the legal profession in Manatee County.

Professional Credentials

Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992, Bill Galvano has also been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Florida Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the Manatee County Bar Association (for which he formerly served on the Board of Directors).
